Anne Redpath OBE ARA (1895-1965). Attended Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 1917. She spent a long period in France before returning to Scotland in the 1930's. She was an admirer of the French Post-Impressionists. From the 1950's onwards she was well known in the Scottish art world and focused on still lifes and landscapes depicted in rich colours. She was an important figure in the group of artists known as The Edinburgh School.
