Frances Walker RSW, studied at Edinburgh College of Art before taking up a teaching post in the Hebrides. This position led to the development of a love of wild and remote places which form the basis of her works. Many of her images feature coastal scenes with rocky outcrops and beaches.
Walker later moved to Aberdeen, where she taught at Gray's School of Art for many years. Since retiring, she has travelled widely to remote places such as the landscapes of the Antarctic and South Georgia.
