Freddy Theys was born in Antwerp, where he studied Life Drawing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
He lives in Belgium, visiting Scotland often for inspiration for his hand-made etchings.
His works depict scenes from throughout Scotland including the Highlands, Shetland, Orkney, Skye and the Outer Hebrides.
His work is held in many private and public collections throughout the world, including those of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, National Portrait Gallery in London, City of Antwerp Portrait Gallery and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery.
