1925-2005. Born in Germany, he came to England as a POW in 1945. After he was released, he decided to become an artist, and moved to Cornwall where he settled. He established friendships with Roger Hilton, Peter Lanyon and Bryan Wynter and he was the last of the St Ives artists. Landscape was a predominant theme in his work.
