Louis B. Hurt

1856-1929. Louis B. Hurt was a landscape paper born in Derbyshire, but was transfixed and inspired by the wilderness of the northern Highlands, notably, his portrayal of highland cattle. He had his own herd but often travelled to Scotland to paint the magnificent backgrounds to his paintings. Hurt exhibited in the Royal Academy in London and the Royal Society of Artists on Suffolk Street in the late 1800s.
