Neil MacPherson RSA RGI RSW

Neil MacPherson studied Glasgow School of Art 1974-78, and Jordanhill College of Education from 1978-79. MacPherson’s first solo show with Compass was in 1986, and he is a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh and the Royal Glasgow Institute. He has won numerous awards including the Aberdeen Artists Society, Shell Expro Award (twice); Royal Scottish Academy, Young Artist; Royal Overseas League Commonwealth Exhibition, Premier Award; Scotland on Sunday, Mayfest Award (twice); Royal Scottish Academy, London Scottish Award and London Highland Award. His work is in many private and public collections throughout the U.K and overseas, including the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art; Scottish Parliament Collection, Edinburgh; NSW, Australia; Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art & Glasgow Art Gallery & Museums; BBC; Scottish Art Council; Nuffield Foundation; McLaurin Trust and Inverness Museum & Art Gallery. Throughout his career, MacPherson has exhibited widely in the UK, North America & Europe. Neil was elected as a Member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 2006.
