Roger Hilton CBE

Roger Hilton CBE (1911-1975), studied at The Slade School of Art, London and also in Paris. After serving in the war, he became a pioneer in abstract art in post-Second World War Britain. He spent more and more time in Cornwall, eventually becoming a prominent member of The St. Ives Group and was deeply influenced by European Avant-garde movements.
