William Page Atkinson Wells

1872-1923. Born in Glasgow and studied at the Slade before moving to Sydney, Australia where he lived and worked for five years. Returned to Europe, working in Paris and rural France for a time, where he became an admirer of the Barbizon School. After a short stay in Glasgow, he settled in Preston for seven years as a scene painter. Finally settled in Appledore, Devon. Known for his rural scenes.
